Why does Gimli need some help?
My name is Bridgette, I am raising funds to help my best friend, Kim pay for the extensive training her dog, Gimli needs. 7 years ago Gimli came into Kim’s life, by surprise. He was rescued from an abusive home, where he was kept in a kennel half his size 24 hours a day. He was never interacted with in a positive manner and never taught right from wrong. Gimli was aggressive and scared of everything. Kim has worked so hard on his aggression, and has made great progress. However, that is not where the issues with Gimli stop. Even though they have gone to training classes, Gimli will not potty train, anything that touches the floor he pees on. Anything new he pees on. He pees on the couch and the bed, and sometimes his brother. She can shampoo the carpets and while she’s putting up the carpet machine, he’s peeing on the carpet. The same with pooping in the house. He absolutely loves to be outside and will spend hours outside, and come inside and use the bathroom. He tears up the furniture, the carpet, the blinds, the curtains. He eats through baby gates, and plastic kennels. Kim has had to completely rearrange her life and her house to accommodate Gimli and he still finds ways to continue to tear things up.
At her wits end, Kim was faced with a decision, find a Board and Train program she simply can’t afford, or try to find a new home for Gimli with someone who is able to provide the training he so desperately needs. Gimli is part of her family, he is the sweetest, most loving little dog. He honestly worships the ground Kim walks on, and she wants nothing more than for him to stay with her. But she needs help, she needs help to pay for the help that he needs.
